Joanne Goodrum

Hi there,

My name is Joanne, but most people call me Jo.

My link to all things creative started as a child and I was always playing and experimenting in the creative area while at school. I soon found my love for all things colourful and have not stopped since.

As an adult, I have stayed in a classroom and trained as a teacher in South Africa. My experience in both Primary and Early Years has encouraged me to see that art is all about the process and not the product. Getting messy and enjoying the process is ok and quite a bit of fun too. The joy that a person finds while creating is irreplaceable and for that moment the world seems to stop!

In my classes I hope to encourage and develop that joy of creativity – now in adults – by allowing them to build skills – whether familiar or untapped – using all sorts of artistic media. This improves the participants wellbeing and gives them a sense of pride and achievement after a larger piece has been completed. Some may choose to take a smaller piece with them, to remind them of their accomplishment and success, or simply to decorate a wall or shelf.

Teaching adults and facilitating their learning in both groups and individually in a fun and engaging way is my aim and I hope to bring out the artist in them, if only for a short time.

Let’s see what we can Create!
