This year for National Day of Arts in Care Homes we got care homes around the UK to be "Inspired By...."
This year we got “Inspired By…” Gustav Klimt, Yayoi Kusama and Claude Monet.
These were available as both live, in-home art workshops hosted by a member of our team or as art kits delivered to your care home ready for your residents to create.
All art kits contained, mini biography, techniques and inspiration pages on each of the artists. Paint, brushes, embellishments and instructions for a group activity.
Creative Mojo Supporting Arts in Care Homes – 24th September 2022 #AICH2022
Project 1 - Gustav Klimt, The Kiss
We studied the final painting of Klimt’s Golden period, The Kiss, and interpreting this through our Inspired By...Klimt workshops.
Residents created lavish pieces of group art adorned with gold, birds, sunflowers, lots of leaves and exotic flowers too.
Project 2 - Yayoi Kusama
Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation, but is also active in painting, performance, video art, fashion, poetry, fiction, and other arts.
Residents designed and created wonderful Yoyoi inspired dresses with butterflies, fruits and vegetables. Experimented with printing and had fun!
Project 3 - Claude Monet's Water Lilies
Residents studied Claude Monet’s Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge (1899) and created inspiring group pieces and art, exhibited at a local venues.
Painting waterlilies, wildlife including dragonflies, and frogs and not forgetting the famous Japanese bridge, residents loved this classic!
CERTIFICATE & PRIZE DRAW
All care homes that participated received a certificate of participation and were entered into a prize draw.
The first three designs drawn each received 100x printed postcards of their design and the big winner also receive an A1 printed frame of their winning design too!
